The Role of the Governing Body at Doddiscombsleigh Primary

We meet regularly throughout the year, as an entire governing body and in sub-committees, in order to discuss important issues related to the running of the school. Many of us are involved in the day-to-day life of the
school, either as parents, staff or ‘friendly neighbours’. Each of us has monitoring responsibilities for one or more curriculum areas and we enjoy observing the children at work and play – sometimes supporting their learning more directly e.g. through volunteering in the classroom, or on a school trip. In brief, our main aim is to ensure that Doddi School is a happy, healthy and safe place to be.
