May the Force be with You! Science Week in Class 3, May 2017

The Class 3 children have been learning all about forces during their science week.  They learnt about the force of gravity and discovered that they would only weigh one sixth of their Earthly weight if they were on the moon!  They also carried out a number of investigations into different forces such as friction, the upthrust of water and air resistance.  The photographs show the children investigating the factors that result in the most efficient spinners.

Rocky's Game, Key Stage 2, May 2017

The Key Stage 2 children have been learning all about fossils this term.  They have discovered how fossils were made and where they can now be found.  They have also learnt about the Jurassic Coast by playing a game, called 'Rocky's Game', in preparation for our whole school trip to Charmouth next month.  Some children have their own fossil collections at home and have brought some specimens into school to show to the rest of the class.

Our hard-working Year 6 pupils have now completed their SATs.  They took papers which tested their reading, their grammar, punctuation and spelling, and their maths skills in arithmetic and reasoning.  Having completed this challenge, they were ready to enjoy their celebratory ice-creams and let off some steam by playing a badminton match in the school hall.
