Christingle at Doddi, December 2016

To mark the start of the Christmas period, the children held their Christingle Service in Doddiscombsleigh Church.  After making the Christingles in the school hall and practising the carols, the children were ready to celebrate the event.  They, and their families, met at school to process to the church using their torches and lanterns to guide the way.  Once inside, Reverend Mayer led the service which included readings telling the Christmas story, an explanation of the symbolism of the actual Christingle and a collection of money for the Children's Society to go to children less fortunate than themselves enabling them to get their rights.  It was a beautiful, atmospheric evening, filled with the spirit of Christmas.
