Fairtrade Assembly and Great Mayan Cake Bake, November 2016

As a Rights Respecting school, we have been learning all about Fairtrade - how it helps farmers around the world and how it is important to buy Fairtrade goods where we can.  We put together an assembly to tell the KS1 children and parents about this topic.  We also used Fairtrade ingredients to make lots of delicious cakes to sell in order to raise money for Children in Need.  The cake sale had a Mayan theme because we have been looking at the ancient Mayans in our history lessons.  We dressed up in brightly-coloured Mayan style clothing and sold our cakes and cookies from our own, specially-designed stalls.  We raised a massive total of £154.97 and would like to thank all our fabulous parents for baking the cakes and then buying them!!
