Rights Respecting and Harvest Assembly, October 2017

Our end of half-term assembly was very well attended by many parents and friends who were treated to a performance from each of our three classes.  The first part of the assembly was devoted to the Rights Respecting Schools Award and what it means to us here at Doddi School.  Class 2 put together a wonderfully informative powerpoint about RRS and presented it to all the parents, staff and pupils, explaining exactly what the award is and giving an outline of the work we are all doing towards achieving it.  Class 3 had written a short play during their English lessons about Awful Alan who wanted everything but then realised just how lucky he was when he met another boy who had very few of the necessities of life.  This performance went down really well with humour helping to put across a very important message.  Finally, Class 1 talked about harvest and showed their wonderful fruit and vegetable faces before singing their favourite harvest song - Big Red Combine Harvester.  What a lovely way to end the half-term!
