Rock and Rapid Residential, June 2016

The Key Stage 2 children had an amazing time on their residential at Rock and Rapids Adventure Centre.  On site, the 21 intrepid children were challenged in many ways: could they climb a vertical wall? …. yes!; could they swing from a high balcony on a rope? … yes!; could they follow a low ropes course without falling to the muddy ground? … yes! and finally, could they abseil down a long rope whilst being suspended in mid-air? … yes, yes, yes!  On the last day, the whole group decamped to Wimbleball Lake for the water activity section of the residential.  They arrayed themselves in wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets (with a little bit of help from Mrs E, Mrs Mc and Mr L!!!) and then made for the lake.  They rode on a white-water raft and a mega SUP (a huge stand-up paddle-board) and also had time to have a splash around in the water before it was time to make for the shore and a hot shower!  The residential was a wonderful experience which will live with the children for ever!
