Pre-School Easter term

We have had a wonderful term here at Pre-School!

Worm News!

The children have been fascinated by our wormery, created with the help of Katrine Harding using compost and sand. We have collected leaves and grass to put on top and watched the worms take it down into their burrows The children have even been brave enough to hold them and look at them closely, observing how they move an seeing which are longer or shorter.

Since then we have been threading bead worms and making worm sock puppets! These actives have provided opportunity for learning across the curriculum particularly maths and understanding the world.

Pre-School Mother's Day Treat!

We treated our lovely mummies to a Mother's day treat and arranged for a tea and cake morning at The Thatched Kitchen, Doddi with Mrs Berry.

The Children walked through the village where they posted their Mother's Day cards before enjoying delicious cakes with their mummies. The mummies were also presented with beautiful daffodils before the children headed back to Pre-School. A wonderful morning was had by all!

Potato Growing Competition!

We are taking part in the growing competition with the School. The children will be able to plant the potatoes and keep an eye on their growth and take part in the really fun part the harvesting!!

We have done well in the past and are hoping for similar success!

We are considering asking parents to provide slippers for the children to wear at Pre-School. We feel it will allow the children to feel more at home, it has been proven to help feel relaxed, with concentration and better learning. Google professor Stephen Heppel, shoeless learning for more information. Let us know your thoughts!
