Inspirational Assembly, May 2018

Today, we met Katharine Lowrie, who, along with her husband, followed her dream and ran the entire length of South America from Chile to Venezuela.  The couple planned the run to raise funds for nature charities and, along the way, they visited many schools to give presentations.  Katharine brought in lots of the kit which the couple needed to help them survive on the long, hard journey.  This equipment was pulled in a trailer behind them as they ran the 5,000 miles from the south to the north of the continent.  Katharine also showed us photograp

Dance Showcase, April 2018

The children who have been attending the dance club run by dance teacher Mia over the last 8 weeks, showed their fantastic dancing to an appreciative audience of parents in their Dance Showcase.  They danced in synch with no props, then with pompoms and finally with a parachute - they brought the house down!  It was a fantastic show full of enthusiasm and amazing dancing skills.

Carnival of the Animals Procession, April 2018

For its 150th birthday, RAMM held a spectacular Celebration of the Animals procession through Exeter with huge puppets made by the Shademakers Company and lots of masked children including a number of Doddi pupils who sported their animal masks made during the workshop held at school.  Can you tell who is beneath each of these fox masks?

Funny Run, April 2018

Today, we held our Funny Run which had been postponed from last term - and what an event it was!  Everyone dressed up in costume and Mr Flint led the whole school in a short warm-up.  Then the KS2 children started the 1 mile circuit, closely followed by the younger children in Acorn Class.  The sunny weather meant that it was a very warm and exhausting race and everyone needed a long drink when they returned to school.  The fastest KS2 girl was Alice with a time of 9 minutes and 50 seconds and the fastest KS2 boy was Samuel with a time of 9 minutes an

Celebration of Work, April 2018

Parents, relatives and friends came into Doddi today to celebrate the work of the pupils.  Each child was able to show their work to their visitors so that they could see exactly what is being done in the classroom.  It was very well attended and greatly enjoyed.

Mask making, April 2018

As part of RAMM's 150th birthday celebrations, a 'Carnival of the Animal's procession is being organised in Exeter.  To help join in the celebrations, we worked with Cara Roxanne, a local artist, who organised a mask-making workshop using a variety of different materials.  Acorn Class made amazing owl masks and Oak Class made fancy fox ones.  The children had a great time being incredibly creative and will be able to take their masks into Exeter to take part in the procession and help celebrate this very special event.
