Sandwich-Bot

~~This week during our topic work the children have been looking at recipes and TV cookery programmes, discussing the clear steps, use of pictures and demonstrations that these include.  The children then had a go at writing a set of instructions to make a jam sandwich, this proved to be much harder than they thought it would be.  The children went on to test their instructions by programming a sandwich bot, (Mrs Peters), to make the sandwich following the recipe exactly.  This highlighted some of the steps that the children had forgotten with much hilarity.  Once a clea

Class One Topic Letter - Summer Term

Funny Run and Easter Awards, March 2017

The end of the Spring Term is always marked by our world-famous (and eagerly awaited!) Funny Run followed by our awards assembly.  This year, the children dressed up in amazing fancy dress costumes which many wore during the 1 mile race itself.  The Key Stage 2 children set off first and the race was won by a hair's breadth, with a time of 9 minutes and 16 seconds, by Ashley.  Lily came second with a time of 9 minutes and 17 seconds!  Both children were awarded their cups at the assembly and the fastest boy and girl in each class also won a medal.  Other aw

Celebration of Work, March 2017

All the parents were invited to a Celebration of Work, where they came into school and their children showed them all the fabulous work that they have been completed this year.  Armed with cups of tea and slices of cake, the parents were given this very personal tour of books and display work by their offspring.  The event proved to be extremely popular for all involved.

Mother's Make, March 2017

Mrs Cook organised a fantastic Mother's Make so that the pupils could create beautiful cards for their mums for Mothering Sunday.  Many dads came to help their children in this great artistic endeavour.
