Doddi Harvest, October 2013

The children were treated to a delicious harvest breakfast by the fabulous mums who make up the Doddi Friends.  Afterwards, we had our special harvest assembly, where Mrs. Evans told us all about St Petrocs which is where our collected food will be going, and the Reverand Mayer talked to us about how we can all try to make the world a better, fairer place.  We also sang some of our favourite harvest songs!

Some children went to the church with Mrs Evans to make some beautiful flower arrangements for the harvest service.

Rights Group Questionnaire, September 2013

The first task of the new school year set by the Rights Group was to design a questionnaire designed to find out how well we do at ensuring that all children have their rights.  They brought the questionnaire to a special assembly and the older children helped the younger children to complete it.

Gormley Figures at Doddi! September 2013

We were visited by Lucy Rockcliffe, a local ceramic artist, who showed us how to make Gormley-type figures to form an art installation.  Each child was able to make two or three figures which will form a welcoming party at the Doddi Art Show during half-term.  The funding for this exciting art session was provided by the Helen Foundation, an arts based charity who support young people in all branches of the arts in South Devon.  Many thanks to them and also to Lucy for leading such an inspirational day.
