Year 6 PEPI Presentations and Bowling Trip, July 2012

It's that special time of year again where the Year 6 pupils get ready to say goodbye to Doddi School and move on to pastures new. They have spent the second half of the summer term during English lessons, creating their own PEPI project - a project about a topic chosen by each child. They have independently researched their topic and have used their own ideas to write and present it - all very useful skills for their life ahead.

Residential is Fabulous Fun, July 2012

We all had the most amazing fun on our Key Stage 2 residential to ‘Rock and Rapids’ at South Molton.  We spent three days and two nights at the centre and did a huge array of different adventurous activities.

During our first day, we tested our climbing skills on a range of different climbing walls and also in the boulder room where some climbs were horizontal with the floor!  In the evening we got into four groups and competed with each other to design the best catapult for propelling eggs for the furthest distance.

Swimming Gala, May 2012

Eight super swimmers from Class 3 took part in the swimming gala held at Chudleigh Swimming Pool.  There were a huge variety of races from relays, kick races and individual races.  Our team did brilliantly winning the majority of their races against the other teams.  We came second overall but because we had an all-girl team instead of four boys and four girls we could not be officially placed - however, everyone enjoyed taking part.

Fun Run 2012

Each year we hold our Fun Run to raise money for Sport Relief and this year turned out to be a fabulous event.  The School Council had made the decision that everyone (includng the staff!) should be dressed as a superhero.  The costumes were absolutley amazing as the photographs show, and Tony Porter, our judge, found his job extremely difficult.  The winners in Class 1 were Sam and Fleur, in Class 2 they were Sam and Aine, and in Class 3 they were Esme and Ricarda.

Balobia School

Unfortunately, due to extreme difficulties in communicating with Balobia School (we cannot even be sure that what we send is getting through) we have made the difficult decision to locate an alternate school to support and communicate with.

Each year we rasie funds to support Balobia School
in Ghana.  Its very different to Doddi ! If you
would like to make a donation to help us support
Balobia please contact the school office.

Absence Request Form

School believes there is a strong correlation between attendance and attainment.  The law does not grant parent/carers an automatic right to take their children out of school during term time and permission for absence must be sought in advance using the Absence Request Form. If the circumstances relating to this request are considered exceptional, absence authorisation will be conditional on satisfactory attendance up to the date of the request.
