First Rights Group Meeting, November 2012

The first Rights Group met to discuss our journey to achieving the Rights Respecting Schools Award.  The group consists of our School Council members, Mrs. McManus and Mrs. Peake.  We decided to ensure that all members of the school community know about children's rights and devised a few ways of doing this.  Click onto the link below to find out more!

Electricity Everywhere! November 2012

During Science Week Class One have been learning about Electricity. The children looked at the dangers of electricity, appliances that use electricity, the difference between mains and battery powered appliances before investigating how to make a bulb light up. The children then used their understanding of circuits to make a range of fantastic models, they even included a switch!

Haloween Party, October 2012

The School Council organised the most amazing Halloween party for all the children (and adults!) in the school to enjoy.  It began with a fancy dress competition - the winners were Dom and Connor for the boys and Aine and Ieva for the girls - then the festivities began with a spooky disco, pinata, apple bobbing, pin the wart on the witch's face, face painting and lots, lots more.  The afternoon was concluded with a delicious Halloween feast!  What a lovely way to begin the half-term holiday!

Off By Heart Poetry Competition, October 2012

We had a great turn-out for the Off By Heart Poetry Competition this year, with entrants from all three classes.  The standard was of a very high quality and many children used props and costumes to bring their recitals to life.  The judges, Mr Cope, and Mrs. McManus' daughter, Lorie, had a very difficult job to choose the best entrants in each class.  The winners were: Alice from Class 1, Fleur from Class 2 and Ieva and Millie from Class 3.  Well done to everyone who took part and also to the parents for coming and supporting the event so enthusiastically.
