Snowy Days

Today was a snowy day at school.  Class 1 enjoyed having a snowball fight and building a snowman.  Afterwards we had some delicious hot chocolate to help us get warm.

The children also built themselves a new school pet on the main playground - a snowdog!  Have a look at the photograph of our new pet with Aine - isn't he sweet!

Doddi plays futsal, January 2013

Tom Hayne, from the Schools Sports Partnership, worked with the children in Key Stage 2 to teach them how to play futsal which is a fast-moving style of football.  He played some warm-up games with them and then taught them some futsal skills.  It was a fast-moving, high-energy lesson enjoyed by all!

Doddi meets Dick Whittington!

The whole school went to the Theatre Royal in Plymouth to see Dick Whittington with Christopher Biggins and Basil Brush!  It was a very lavish and funny performance and everyone enjoyed it - especially the ice-cream during the interval.

Christmas Lunch 2012

The whole school, including Pre-School, shared a delicious Christmas lunch together along with Mr Cope, our Chair of Governors, and Mr Clark, our woodwind teacher.  It was followed by our annual Music and Mincepies event where children sang Christmas songs and the school orchestra played some carols and a fantastic rendition of the James Bond theme.

Jonah Wows All! December 2012

This year's Christmas play, Jonah and the Whale, brought a little sunshine to everyone's life during the dark and dreary days of winter.  The tale, set on a beach and also at the bottom of the sea, involved starfish, sharks and pirates and was quite a departure from the usual bible story.  It was enjoyed by large audiences made up of family and friends who were justifiably proud of their offspring who acted and sang beautifully.  A great artistic triumph for all the children of our little school!
