School Lunches at Doddi
At Doddi, we are passionate about ensuring that our school lunch menu is healthy, sustainable, environmentally friendly and locally sourced.
Last year, we took part in a participatory research project co-funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and Exeter University, which aimed to develop a healthier and more sustainable school food culture including the school meals and food education curriculum. Children, parents and staff were all involved in the project and it was hugely successful.
As a Rights Respecting School, it is hugely important to us that our children learn about food and the impact on human and planetary health and therefore the children at Doddi really understand the principles behind the creation of our new school menu. Our school menu now includes dishes which have less added sugar and ingredients that are sourced from local, organic suppliers. We are also lucky enough to have our own school garden where we grow produce all year round, which is then harvested by the children and our school kitchen manager and used in our school kitchen.
We hope that you enjoy taking a look at the video made especially for us at Doddi by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, as well as our menu for this term.
