Rights Assembly, July 2016

The children in Key Stage 2 have been working hard to help the children in Class 1 remember their rights.  They worked in small groups and chose how they would put across their messages in a special rights assembly.  Some groups made posters which were eye-catching and informative, one group made a powerpoint which also included a quiz, one group made up a 'Remember your Rights Game', which they played with the younger children, and the last group made up a special rights song with actions, which they performed for everyone (please click on the link to see a film of this song!)  The KS1 children really enjoyed this assembly and could remember far more of their rights by the end.  Well done to our hard-working KS2 pupils!

Rights Respecting Schools Assembly, March 2016

The Key Stage 2 children have been working hard to put together a special assembly to inform the Key Stage 1 children, and the parents, all about children's rights.  They put together a special powerpoint which outlined the rights that the pupils think are important and how we can all ensure that each child gets these rights.  They acted out five short plays, each one showing a particular right, and asked the younger children if they could guess which right was being portrayed.  They also gave out a questionnaire to the parents to find out how much the asse

Children in Need, Small Change Snake, November 2015

The children came into school on Children in Need Day, armed with bags of small change to find there was a very hungry Small Change Snake in residence in the school hall!  They filled the whole snake, which measured over 4m long, with their coins.  Mrs Wylie and some of the children from Class 3 then counted the money which amounted to an amazing £53.67!  This will be sent to Children in Need to help disadvantaged children around the country to enable them to enjoy their rights.
